MEXICO DATA OVERSTATE WEAPONS TRACED TO U.S. . . . The El Paso Times reports that Mexican authorities have only provided ATF with serial numbers for less than a third of the weapons that were seized since 2006 when the crackdown against the drug cartels began. The article asserts that Mexican authorities handpicked which firearms were traced. One skeptic said that most of the seized firearms were not traced because of corruption in Mexico. Regardless whether that claim is true, ATF says that the firearms that have been successfully traced were on average originally sold at retail about 14 years ago. That a high percentage of firearms successfully traced turn out to have been sold in the United States should come as no surprise since federal law requires markings on firearms so they can be traced through interstate commerce. It is like tracing cars on a Ford dealership and finding out they are mostly Ford vehicles.

The Mexican Government also, on good authority, cooked the books and skewed the survey to reflect a much higher US origin than actually was the case.    The NRA has said that the actual percentage of seized guns that were from the US was only about 7%, not 60% as some politicians (i.e. Diane Feinstein) were claiming.  Statistics don't lie but liars gather the statistics!  Additionally, none of the Class-3 firearms that commit a large percentage of the Drug Cartel mayhem would have come from the US anyway.  That is unless the Mexican Federales or Army sold Class-3 arms to the Cartels, ref. Iraqi police.

That's a favourite ploy of our Pro-Control advocate/liars up here too.  Blaming smuggling of weapons from the US for our crime problems and then holding up the lack of controls in the US as the reason.

Much easier and safer than looking at the real social causes.

The stupid truth that gets in the way of their agenda.  Then they have to start using lie after lie after lie, all done to cover up previous lies.  If they got what they wanted, the end justifies the means of how they got there.
If nobody ever said anything unless he knew what he was talking about, a ghastly hush would descend upon the earth. AP Herbert

The Mexican Government pays State Police Mexican Minimum wage and expects them to steal or extort the rest.  Somehow this Police graft becomes the US's problem and our politicians spoon-feed the Mexican Government's agenda to not deal with their issues.  Cartel murders have already begun to spread beyond Mexico's borders and will continue to spread until Mexico faces the Cartel violence issue with more than straw-man statistics on crime reduction and finger pointing at the US.

I live about 300 yards from Canada in Washington.  I and several of our Canadian friends believe that the biggest issue facing Canada is in the future that the English/European Canadian population is being overwhemled by South Asians and Moslems.  This will affect Canadian public and foreign policy eventually.  This population shift is also a big issue in Great Britain, France and Germany.

EVERYBODY wants what we have... problem is they LITERALLY want what have and don't want us to have it.
Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.
