Anyone have any experience with the currently produced Simmon AETEC 2.5-10x44 Illuminated as to holding zero and general durability? I have one on a Ruger Hawkeye .358Win and so far it has held up well to a fair amount of shooting and a LOT of miles in a Kawasaki Mule. What I like about it is that every time I turn the illuminated feature on it works and battery life seems to be good!

I had problems with a couple of Leupold illuminated scopes draining the batteries when not in use and illumination working in past years. Does anyone know if the current production illuminated models are reliable in this respect. I've used a lot of Leupolds thru the years with virtually no other issues and are probably my favorite brand.

I only have one illuminated Leupold and it is a Mk 4 and the battery is going on 3 yrs old same battery but I take it out when not using the scope. Dont know if you have to worry about the small bateries leaking but for years Ive had flashlights and radios etc ruined by leaking batteries so I dont take the chance. Ive heard some good things about the Aetec but my experience with a bottom of the line Simmons was not one to encourage me buying from them again.
