The chevron reticle or solid triangle reticle (circle dot too) might be better for close to medium distances. I have the one your looking at, it's nice, but not as fast as the ones I listed.

The red full line illumination does not do bindon aiming concept. I like the chevron and triangle with the fiber optic and tritium illumination. I like the yellow but find it washes out when pointed toward a light source like a streetlight at night. I have not had a chance to look at the green first hand but the info looks good if the background is not all green and if the background is green then red or amber would be lots better.

Bassmaster, I like your reticle. My ACOG has the same reticle. I find it to be simple and fast. It may not be as fast as the chevron at close range, but it's easier to figure out at medium and long ranges. That's JMHO.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

i'm in the same boat almost, new EBR on the way but 7.62 so my BDC choices are a bit slimmer.
i'm looking at the red chevron based ACOGs (b/c of BAC) and the top of chevron being a 100yd zero, the bottom of chevron being 300....
interesting to hear about the green (and maybe amber) being subjectively preferable.
this is the one i'm thinking of:
it's a 3.5x i was wishing they made a 4x with .308 reticle for the 'red dot on top' but guess not... wondering if the BAC will work for me... seems hit miss with some folks. it's an 18" 7.62 so i'd be selling it short putting a red-dot on it (i want to use it on my 400yd appleseed course this summer)
