I need to know which rings are the best and most inexpensive for a SS10x42 to go on a olympic arms ar15 with a flat top receiver.

I do not know which rings would be the least expensive, but I believe the best would be Badger Ordnance.

IOR makes some good tactical rings. Almost an exact copy of the badgers for about half the price.

Are you running standard handguards or do you have a MRFS (four rail set up)? Standard handguards are usually higher than a MRFS thus effecting what ring height you need. Badger Ord rings are not the leaste expiensive but they are the best, med or high will work.

As far as quality at a more affordable price look at ARMS, IOR, & Leupold in that order. I also heard Larue is making a 30mm ring set now, never seen them but if Larue makes them will will be good!

I don't know why I didn't respond to this posting...... You have a lot of majors in this question... #1 You get what you pay for... The SS10x42 is a very good scope. If you want that scope to perform to the the MAX then put good rings on it. If you want inexpensive, you might as well put duct tape around it. #2  I have an Oly AR15 20" fluted stainless Target / Bench gun that shoots a good tight 2.5 inch group  with 3 different match grade ammos. Thats using the good stuff... With mil-surp its 4"+.  I hope your Oly shoots better. Do your self a GIANT favor, buy the proper rings, you have a good scope and I know your Oly will out shoot mine. So get your hands on a set of Badger rings or either of the two Warne offered for it.... 217LM or 617M tactical rings. You can't go wrong...

P.S.

I also have a Savage 10FPLE2A Police rifle in .223 that will (with the same scope)  shoot a 5 shot 1 ragged hole group. I have tactical rings on this one....... Enjoy
