I have eaten horse before.  I have Finnish friends.  It was not bad but not great either.  It is not something I go looking for.

My dad's friends father Ernie came to this country before WWII from Germany.  I remember talking to him when I was in grade school.  He talked about wheelbarows of money and not being able to buy anything. He said that horse was not that great, but you could eat it, if you had enough sour cream. My best guess is that was old work horse. YMMV

I hear it's a delacacey IN FRANCE.
Frogs will eat anything.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I have eaten horse.  Did not know it at the time, only later. It actually wasn't bad tasting, but I will know the taste forever.  Anyone ever tries that again, trouble will ensue.

While I always hope for a Triple Crown winner, I could not help but pull for the filly Rachel Alexandra... my youngest daughter is named Alexandra.  WHAT A SURPRISE... happy and sad at the same time.

After watching the Oaks and knowing the same jockey would be riding her, I knew Rachel Alexander was going to win the Preakness. After watching that race I'm not sure who's going to win the Belmont. It's going to depend on the jockey. Had Mind That Bird had the right jockey, he could have won the Preakness.

You are absolutely correct... the jockey lost that race for Mind That Bird, horse had "it", jockey was late, very late, on calling for the speed.
