I was finally able to find some 50 gr (Hornady V-max) bullets for my 22-250.  Bought 500 of them, which is all they had.  I was going to use RL-15 but no one had any, so I ended up getting a couple pounds of Varget.  Will be using CCI primers (always have used CCI, and never have had a problem).

Has anyone used this combo of bullets and powder?  And if so, what kind of results did you get?

i would suspect that the 50 gr sierra blitz king would yield similar results. im in the process of loading some of them up with various powders i have (r-15 included) and i will report my findings after i get some more range time.

Varget is an excellent powder for the 22-250.  I would say it is one of the 3 best along with IMR4064 and H380

Sorry Helo, never used Varget, want too, but just can't get any.  Have some 4064, 32.5 grs plus a 55gr nosler bt is what I run.

SmileVarget is a real good powder for the 22-250 with almost any weight bullet, up to 68-69 grains. Due to the great component shortage (hoarding??) sometimes Varget is not available. Then other powders that work well with 50 grain bullets are H380, RS Big Game, 4064, Re15, 4895, and H414.

Every rifle collection can only be complete with a .22-250 - less expensive to shoot, almost no recoil, many many good bullets, good range, accurate, and when used wisely will kill deer size game.
