For my first post, I ask a simple question...
I have rifles and optics from low end to high end; however, this time, it's simple.
For my birthday, my wife and I agreed that a $200 budget would would be a wise price point. She is simply going to choose from the advice received here and order from SWFA a riflescope costing less than about $200- $225.
I could have use for just about anything from a red dot plinker for an AR to the best generic 3x9 to a low power variable for my grandfather's Savage 340 bolt action 30/30 I inherited... several hunting rifles from a .357 lever action trapper or a tacticool 10/22 and a Rem 700 30/06 that AI would have as a loaner deer rifle.
What is the best you can do for $200? Quality, durability, clarity, repeatability. Fixed or variable. Fixed should be 4x or less. Variables need not go above 12x.
Weaver Classic V 3x9, Bushnell 3200 3x9 and Burris FFII 3x9 are my guesses, but I might be more interested in something "different", and I am willing to take a risk.
Thanks for your attention!

the nikon team primos would fit your budget for $220
http://www.swfa.com/pc-9244-2119-nikon-3-9x40-team-primos-riflescope.aspx otherwise maybe check www.samplelist.com for some of swfa's deals. i know there is a bushnell elite 4200 3x9 on there right now for $199 that would be a great scope for $200 even if its used. i have one on my .375H&H magnum Edited by pyro6999 - April/20/2009 at 14:18 |

I'll do rings separately, if I don't already have them. Around 200 bucks is an arbitrary budget we agreed to. I would go higher if I had a real need and want .
Thanks for the replies.
