Hi guys
After a light deer staking scope, I'm interested in the SIGHTRON SII 2.5-10x32, anyone tried one or have other recommendations? |

Monarch 2-8 isn't bad ... 4200 Elite 3-9 is always a good choice

For stalking I'd say the Trijicon 1.25-4x24. 'Course I pretty much recommend that scope for everything. Stalking is normally a close range proposition so speed could be important. What's the budget for this build? Unless you're snipin' across valleys I'd shy away from the 10x, but that's just me. If you go Sightron get the BigSky series with the hydophobic coating.

For me it would be a Leupold VX-3 1.75-6x32, 2.5-8x36 or a Zeiss Conquest 2.5-8x32. Heck you go with a fixed 4x, IOR has a nice litte 4x or even the Zeiss 4x, which is on sale right now I believe.

There will be opportunity to snipe across valleys so I will need a 9 or 10x on the top end, there will also be close thick country
Don't really know about the price, it's just whatever wins me over Are there any Euro scopes under 12oz? |

I have this scope very nice, crystal clear optics very compact. It has about four inches of eye relief.Wouldn't hesitate to use this scope on a stalk.

I've never tried hunting "light deer", I try to go for the big ones myself. (?) When you say shots across a valley, how far are you thinking?

Would the above mentioned scopes not be overly large for a LIGHT scope originally requested? Good scopes yes but also full sized.

Leupold VXIII or VX-3 2.5-8 should fit the bill nicely ..36 mm bell and compact in size . I use these on my Encore Blackpowder rifles and a Rem Model 7 in 308 , and the little 2.5-8 has proven a perfect fit.

I know what your saying big boar but ccc's saying he needs to top out at 9x or 10x and a quick check shows weights of scopes in that range from 12 to 13.4oz. Here's an 11.6oz Swarovski:

What rifle will this low calorie scope go on? some of the small or lighter scopes are too short to mount easily on a long action. If you have to add a one piece base you are adding more weight than you save.

Wow that looks great, are these scopes tunnel vision free like the Z6 Swaro? |

I am still sticking with either the 4200 Elite , a Leupy 2.5-8 , or a Monarch 2-8 ( In that order ) ...either one will work for ya and weight will not be an issue

There is not muchout there with the field of view that the Z6 has. The 4x zoom capability gives it much more FOV because of the lower power for a starting point, but when at the higher power it is similar to the Zeiss Victory, Burris euro etc. Swaro makes a very fine scope. Get it if that is what you want. It is your criteria that you need to satisfy. The Swaro American is not near the scope that the Z6 is. When you purchase it, you will surely have the equipment to exceed most any shooters skill.

I'd look for a Kahles CL 2-7x36. I have two and their field of view is pretty close to my 3-9s and 2.5-10s
