Just not torqued equally, if it bothers you carefully re adjust one at a time you should have no problems just don't over torque them. or take it back and have them do it! ...welcome to the OT

Assuming they boresighted it correctly, if you want to maintain that do one ring first, tightening each side a bit at a time to keep them even. Ideally, it would be done with a properly calibrated torque wrench but someone mentioned on here once that if you just go until you feel the allen (or torx) key bend a bit that will work.

I mentioned about the allen wrench thing on another forum and how the results would supposedly give you the same amount of torque as using a torque wrench set at manuf suggested specs. John Barsness responded saying he had heard the same and was going to test it out. As with rl,I've been doing it this way for 30yrs. If I had an inch pounch wrench I'd check it out myself.

You definitely want the ring gaps equal on both sides. This is especially true with the Talley Lightweights as they run a bit narrow at the flanges and unequal gaps can cause some nasty ring marks.
I love the Talley Lightweights and this is my only issue with them. I lap and bed the rings top and bottom anyway so it's not a big deal as lapping takes out the 'pinch points' and bedding them assures 100% tube/ring contact. Then when you bed the bases to the reciver you get a bulletproof stress free setup with maximum contact. Makes a big difference in how a rig holds it's zero.
Most of these 'installers and boresighters' at the big stores can barely figure out how to put milk on their cereal in the morning. And the whole 'boresighting' thing is one of shootings myths that deserves a stake in it's heart.
Sounds like a nice rig....enjoy! -Al

Couldn't agree more. I sure am glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.
