Hey all, I am new here and looking for some help. I am looking for a great scope for my 700cdl and I have found a few that I like. They are the Burris XTR models and the Nikon monarch X.
They both meet my requirements but are the burris XTR scope good? I have heard some say their QC has been going down. Also, is the Monarch X still made? I am not sure... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What I am looking for in a scope is: Good(obviously) Target turrets just like on the Monarch X or Burris XTR. I would like to be able to easily re-zero. 4x16 or higher but not too high. I think the Monarch 5x20 is a good range. I would like the 30mm tube, but the 1 inch is fine. Objective size is also not too big, but the 50 is good. Dollar amount up to about $900 I am sure there will be many questions for me, but Thanks! |

I love my XTR (I have the 3-12). It sits on my 22-250 Rem 700 VSF. I have never had any problems with my Burris scopes. I did send in my Black Diamond to have target turrets installed. Took about 3 weeks.
I can't compare it to the Monarch because I have never had one to play with. I did test a Swaro recently and quite surprise at how well the Burris scopes I have compared. Another scope you might look at is the Bushnell Elite 6500 (either 2.5-16 or 4.5-30). I don't know what knobs they have, but there are guys that can tell you. Welcome to the OT! |
