I would certainly trust buying one if it was from here http://www.samplelist.com/default.aspx?display_num=10&mfg_selection=14&prod_type=1&hide_sold=false
Ebay could be hit or miss. You have to depend on feedback and look at the sellers profile. Even then you can run into problems. As always, buyer beware.

I have bought a few Swaro and Kahles on ebay. As was mentioned before, check out your seller first. As lots of questions. I have not been unhappy with my ebay purchases.

It's not far from South Dakota is it? How much per acre? That stuff is getting pretty hard to come by here.

That would be me!!!!! Ebay does have some great deals but as far as optics and higher priced items I would go with a company with as good reputation such as SWFA. I mostly use ebay for cheap little items...

I no longer ever even look at eBay. I had a couple of less than desireable experiences. Ended up getting money back, but just not worth the hassle to me. By the time it was over, I had so much time invested I was way in the hole. I don't know about anyone else, but even my personal time is worth something. Having to waste it chasing down less than honorable dealers is a waste of it. How much is your time worth per hour???? How much can/will eBay save you IF everything goes great? How much will you lose if it turns out bad? Do you really get satisfaction from posting negative feedback on eBay???
You won't have to worry about any of those questions with SWFA. Vr, Dan

Buying on ebay is hit or miss. The samplelist is a good way to go even if you pay a little more for the Swaro. If it's a cheap item ebays ok but the higher end scopes play it safe and buy from here.

I will confess that I have and still do buy things off of e-bay, but not big ticket items, anything over $200.00 I buy from some place I can return it.

I'm one of the rare ones that's not afraid of Ebay I guess. If you look for sellers with thousands of positive feedbacks I think you're pretty safe. I'd bet most brick and mortar stores would have a hard time achieving as good of feedback as most ebay sellers. In the past six months I've purchased brand new a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14 for $550 and a Nikon Monarch 6-24 for $480. The Zeiss sells for $800 and the Monarch is $650 on most optics sights. That's $420 saved on 2 scopes.
Paypal will freeze a sellers financial accounts if you file a complaint. That's more than can be done if you are treated unfairly from another retailer.
