Boy....now that is really pushing it, Kick ....I take it the length of pull on that thing must be just right for you.....if it was just a little tad-bit short...........!!!!   Shocked
Ed, the LOP on that rifle is right at 13.75" which makes it about .75" short for me.  But I can adjust.  It seems to work well.  Yippee

That is a hard one, but I do not personally believe you get 95% with a Leupold of what you get from S&B.  I did, however, "release" the S&B I had because I had too much invested for what I needed/wanted.  Don't make your purchase based upon the name, but based upon what YOU want 1st, need and can afford 2nd, and what you can get away with 3rd (or maybe 1st).  I could not justify the S&B to myself or to my wife.  It IS a superior optical device, however.

Yeah, it is a hard one.  So hard, that I have not yet made a decision.

Try the IOR 4x.  It will have the best glass next to the S&B, but is priced more like the Leupold.

I finally made my decision.  I went with the Leupold as I could not justify the price of the S&B for my needs.  Thanks to all who contributed to the thread.

I guess I'm not recoil sensitive and I don't creep up on my scope.  One nice thing about fixed-power is that eye relief is always the same.

Having said that, I might one day get bit by my 4X IOR for not holding ol' girl tightly enough, let us hope that never happens or the shot is so fantastic that no one notices the gash on my eyebrow gushing blood.

Enjoy the Leupold, it should serve you well.

farscott - did you buy it yet?  If not, what about the Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5X38?  I know its not a fixed, but even if you accidentaly turned to 5.5, that won't be too much most of the time if ever!  It's got a great low light reticle and its only $299!
take em!

Buying it this weekend, and I am sticking with the simplicity of a fixed power scope.

4x32 Conquest probably has better glass than the Leo for about the same money. Well worth a look.
