This 21 March we held another field shoot at Durbanville about 15km outside of Cape Town. Unfortunately my camera setting went off and the pic quality is not so great. All of the longer distance shooting pics over-exposed.

This pics below are the rifle and handgun sighting range and not part of the competition.

In the cabinet is dried meat which we call biltong. Siced with a beer to wash it down...yummy!

As I understand jerky and biltong is very much the same.

Yes, sometimes the camera focussed, and other times it did not!

Die slagdoppie is a bit of clever wordplay. Literally transalated it means "The Primer"
But a "doppie" is also known as a shot of alcoholic drink, as in lets go for a quick shot of whisky or whatever. So "slagdoppie" kan also be meaning a "primer shot"

With Silver and BD, of all the pictures, I only remember the one of the chicks posterior.  8's, was this a contest or just for fun?  See on one of the pics you could win a Vortex scope or Leica range finder.  Did you walk away with any prizes?  Looks like it was a great place to shoot.

That reminds me of 116 at Camp Pendelton.  Is the beach to your right as you look down range 8?

This was a serious competition. Unfortunately (excuses) I was competing with my hunting rifle and the serious guys all had cutom varmint rifles. My serious rifle is at the gunsmith for a barrel change. So no, I did not feature.

No, this range is about 20 miles inland. No beach in sight.

Went back and read about your "experience" with your Rem.  Sorry to pour salt on an old wound, can about imagine how badly you wanted to have it.  Well, your fellow competitors better get theirs while they can, cause once you get your gun back.....
