for starters, then check out GAP, Surgeon,Stiller
personally I would rather have an FN spr and use the other $3k for a Premier scope.

The mini-windrunner looks nice................heck, they all look great.  I'll be putting top notch optics on whatever I get.   Which would you pick?

No I don't.  That's one reason I plan on going with .308.  The available factory ammo.  That and I've got 3 AR based .308s on order.

ok - good choice of caliber if not reloading, next,  how much do you shoot? In a lot of ways its like the difference between an rem. 11/87 and a Kreighoff for shooting skeet as an example-- both will do the job. What kind of shooting do you do? Range work, really long range work, gun matchs?

I'm just getting started in long-range shooting.  The local range goes out 600yds but as I develop some proficiency I'd like to reach out further.  I know most would advise starting out with less expensive gear but the money is not an issue and I like high quality, dependable equipment in whatever I'm doing.  That way if I screwup I know it was me to blame!  I've received many recommendations on other sites also, so much so that my head is spinning Whacko.   Remington M700 5R, Sako TRG 22, Blaser Tactical 2, GAP, SURGEON, KMW, Accuracy International, Steyr SSG08, Mini-Windrunner.......the list goes on.  I wish there was a long-range shooting store I could go into to look at each one and decide!

In todays market alot of decisions are based on just getting one. Or how far out the custom makers are booked, which then depends on how long you want to wait. If your not reloading you may start with something like just getting 2000 or so rounds of Fed. match or Blackhills or something. Then go from there.

Thanks for all the input.  The Mini-Windrunner really intrigued me.  After spending hours online and talking to the owner of the company for quite a while I got in on a group buy and it should be here in June Yippee  I plan on putting a Night Force 5.5-22X56 on her and taking her to the range in the brief case Cool.  I love the engineering and machine work involved.  Another plus is with the adjustable stock my wife can shoot it too Wink

It started quite a while ago.........most of the time she out shoots me.  Today at the pistol range for example, she was in the zone and I, well I've had better days.  She never rubs it in though Wink
