I just built my first LR-308 and am ready to buy rings.  On my AR-15's I have always bought the Ultra High which Badger lists as .809 and Warne lists as .935 to the bottom of the tube in order to get a good cheek weld, which have both worked great.

However, I noticed that Badger has a mount designated for the AR-10 and SR-25 which is their Extra High and only .659 to the tube .

What have you found to be the best ring height for this platform?
Thanks

 That's interesting.

I automatically assumed they'd be the same for the AR15 and the SR25/ AR10 types. I don't own an AR10, so I don't know. Somebody here knows, though!

Duh....

The smooth sides have a higher rail on them than the A3's so Badger has made a set to fit those nicely.
By the way does everyone out there know that the forward assist on the A3 style LR-308's is useless right from the git-go?   We shouldn't need the FA anyway, I just wanted the dust cover and shell deflector, but the bolt carriers are not serated for the 308s.

Would the SWFA S.S.A.L.T. mount work well with the high rise DPMS platform?

I think it would be way too tall to use comfortably, for most people.
The high-rise receiver was designed to work with low rings, if I'm not mistaken.
