I finally got out to the range with this scope (mounted on a Remington LTR in .308 using the Direct Mount). I am so glad I got it. It was worth the wait and expense. I had boresighted the rifle at home at 40 yards and it only took 3 rounds to get zeroed at 100 yards. The first shot was 2" low and 3/4" right. I shot 10 rounds of 147 gr. police practice ammo and got acceptable groups between 1"-2", then fired 5 rounds of my handloads, which are 165 gr. Nosler Accubonds with 44 grains of Varget. Four of those rounds were touching each other and the fifth I shot with some wind and it missed touching the other four by a 1/4" gap.

I shot up the other 30 rounds of practice ammo at 200, 250 and 400 yards. I had no problem at 200 yards making out the bullet holes with the scope and could kinda tell at 250. It was a real thrill to just dial in 17 clicks and hit within a 6" group at 400 yards. I even shot a few times with the polarized lens caps in place and didn't find the view impeded...just a bit darker. Now that it's zeroed in and I've seen a little of what it can do, I'm really looking forward to getting out to the range. My goal is to spend at least 4 hours a month until June and then double that.

Good info.  Glad you got to the range.  You should put it in the RANGE REPORT... (in competition with Ed in ratings week).
Pictures are appreciated...

It is kind of a range report but I meant it to be more about the scope. Here's some pix. Too bad my camera won't take a good picture of the reticle. I found it extremely clear and really like the thin style with the dots inside the circles.

Very nice!  How have you found the adjustment range on the illumination?  Bright enough in dim/low light to really stand out and dim enough in the dark not to wash out the target?   The field adjustability of this model gives it a big advantage over other Nightforces IMHO.  I want to check one out sometime.

It's more than bright enough in low light. So far, I've dialed it down a bit when looking at things around twilight. In fact, I would prefer that the range be the other way around - start out low when you turn it on and then dial it up if need be. As for the dimmest setting, I took it outside on a fairly dark night and it was low enough not to overwhelm the view in any way.
