Just bought a Weaver rail for my old 500A Mossberg 12ga, so I could mount my new T1 on it. Thought I would take a pic and throw it up here on this forum.
Talk about the ultimate shotgun sight!!! It's a dandy!!!

Looks good Mark. Gonna use that in place of the axe?
My son has a Burris Fast Fire we have been wondering what to do with - like your idea!

Thanks, Craig.
The T1 will doing double duty for me on my shotgun and my AR, once I get a Larue mount from our friends at SWFA.

Federal Vital Shock #00 groups pretty well and thats what's in it now, Dale. This is purely a HD shotgun, in need of a flashlight and mount.
I'm thinking of going with #1 buck shot after reading some ballistic articles.
I welcome your comments and recommendations.

I had read somewhere as well about #1 Mark. Here is an excerpt I read on-line - always up for a discussion!
12 Gauge Shotshell Ammunition Number 1 buck is the smallest diameter shot that reliably and consistently penetrates more than 12 inches of standard ordnance gelatin when fired at typical shotgun engagement distances. A standard 2 ¾-inch 12 gauge shotshell contains 16 pellets of #1 buck. The total combined cross sectional area of the 16 pellets is 1.13 square inches. Compared to the total combined cross sectional area of the nine pellets in a standard #00 (double-aught) buck shotshell (0.77 square inches), the # 1 buck shotshell has the capacity to produce over 30 percent more potentially effective wound trauma. In all shotshell loads, number 1 buckshot produces more potentially effective wound trauma than either #00 or #000 buck. In addition, number 1 buck is less likely to over-penetrate and exit an attacker's body. For home defense applications a standard velocity 2 ¾-inch #1 buck shotshell (16 pellet payload) from Federal, Remington or Winchester is your best choice. |

Exact article I was referring to, Craig. Thanks!
I'm using 9 pellet, #00 Power Shock, NOT Vital Shock, as I mentioned earlier. Not sure it matters.

Thank you, Brother. I like Surefire gear. And I'll look into that.
I would like to change out the stock too. The factory stock sucks.
Have you all seen the Hogue Overmolded stocks?

I have handled a few guns that had them. The soft inserts allow for a good grip.
Hogue has always made good handgun grips IMO. I'm sure the stocks are top quality, too. It looks like the Surefire forend has the soft rubber inserts for a secure hold, too. |

i have a hogue overmolded stock on my .375H&H and its gotta be the nicest composite stock ive handled, but im sure that for more money their are probably others that are better. im sure that companies like h-s prescision and companies like that are better, but i wouldnt know i havent handled any of those before.
