I don't think you could go wrong with either one, but I favor ZEISS myself

They're both excellent; the optics are a coin toss. For my hunting needs, the power range that Swaro had to offer was a better fit so I got the 4a reticle, but in 2-12x50.

I'd be happy to have either,  though given a choice I also would like to have the Zeiss.

I went with a Z6, but as the others have said, either one is great.

Both are great optics, which ever one I got a better deal on is the way I'd go.

I talked myself into a 2.5-10x42 Diavari with #8 reticle.  I don't like to purchase "foreign products" and I don't particularly like the #8 reticle.
I've owned a fixed power Swarovski and it was a great scope.
HOWEVER, in this case, I chose wisely...

so if you dont like the #8, why did you buy it and why do you like it now? the #4 is different in that the posts come closer together.... and no 12oclock post..

I just got a new light-weight 300WM and, when faced with the same choice, put on a Victory Diavari.  A friend bought the exact same gun, 300WM light weight, and topped his with a Z6.  Both are great scopes, both have amazing optics, you'll be happy with either.

As to which is "better", ask an odd number of people; else you'll get probably as many recommendations for Swaro as Zeiss.

I saw the Z6 and bought the Zeiss, but I'd be happy with the Swaro too.

Be advised, the swaro. is a bit heavier, and the eyepiece is bigger around, which may cause bolt handle clearance issues on some rifles. Be sure to check that before buying. Otherwise, it's a toss up.
