Can anyone shed some light on R-15 scope rings/risers and scopes? Just bought one and would like some ideas to kick around.
Did a search and didn't come up with anything so hope this isn't a duplicate post. Thanks |

Typically, there are 2 differant ways to go on scoping an AR.
1) Buy high or extra high rings and scope your AR that way.
2) Buy low rings and get a cheap riser mount (Weaver) and mount the scope that way.
I go with option 2 because it allows me more flexability. I can use the same scope and low rings and get a good cheek weld for my AR or a bolt rifle, (without changing out the rings) if I want to use iron sights or a red dot type optic.
My AR with scope.
Same scope and rings with a bolt gun.

Looks like the scope fits high enough not effect the charging handle, looks good. What brand rings do you have?

Yeah, it worked well for me.
The rings are TPS TSR low rings and the riser is a Weaver, I think.
