Picked up my new Savage 12BVSS in .308 today and will be mounting my SS20 when I decide what bases to use. Have same style rifle in .223 with one piece Leupold base and a SS16 [helluva rig] but it kind of restricts loading so I want to be different this time. Need to stay away from the high dollar stuff, just reliable. For instance, which Lupy bases would fit my SS20 configuration? Lupy, Weaver, Burris, I don't care. As long as they fit an Accu-Trigger receiver and a SS20. Also what height rings to keep scope as low as possible. TIA

I think Leupold Mk IV bases come in a 2 piece set up. They arent really cheap but they should work good.

Leupold offers two variations of two piece bases for your Savage. A standard base and a quick release base. The Mark 4's are not offered for the savage You can get into a dual dovetail set up if you go with Burris. For the rings mediums should be sufficient.
