If any of you guys out there have never tried an 88 like this, let me tell you, it is money well spent. Smooth action with excellent groups and fast follow-up shots. I would highly recommend this rifle to any collection. I already have 5 plus 2 FinnWolf's.

My Dad had both the semi auto went to me but it wasnt reliable, the Lever went to my brother and I would say the Lever is the better gun.  This is a great rifle.

I dont know anything about this gun but its kind of cool looking. Is it tapped for scope mounts and does it ever jam up at all. Is it a light gun with kick or is it fairly heavy?

It is a light gun ...kick is that of a regular 308...as for jamming don't know have not shot it but three four rounds ...bought it cleaned it up here it is .oh yes it it tapped for mounting of a scope. it has the same barrel they used on model 70s.

284's are bringing upwards of$2500 and 358's, well, I've seen a few at $3500. Most 243 and 308's are now fetching $850-$1500 . RL, yours is truly a bargain. I haven't bought one since the price jumped over $450.
If it weren't for me spending my extra cash on my Ar 15's right now, I would take it off your hands for sure.
Derek
ETA : the fact it has been refinished, as well as it being a post'64 has no bearing on the value any more. Most folks who are looking for 88's don't even worry about that any longer.
RL, I am doing some checking around, I might be able to help you sell it.

Wow! I cant hardly believe 300 people have passed up the chance to own a true collector for a song, Shocked is this the economy or are there no Winchester fans out there?  I'm thinking since the price is low people are thinking it's a crappy gun, well the price is now $600.00 .  after some research.                              SOLD!
