Top Secret
Perhaps a better question would be "How much was wasted?" Looking for that bargain scope. This was long before I knew about the actual differences in glass and coatings, and construction materials.

I'll go along with that. I still have 2 that I'm suffering with, waiting to be replaced with something decent. As far as how much was spent....? Not that much for me. I use a lot of other peoples things to see how they work, and then when I find the right one, I buy it. I used this method to buy my last scope, binoculars, and rangefinder. It keeps me from wasting more money. But none of that matters, because I'm not an expert either.

My dad had a saying "Learn to steal with your eyes and ears". Meaning that never be to lazy to look at what others have, how it works and what their opinions are. That way you get to experience a lot more then what you have to pay for.
He also taught me to buy the best the first time. So I have also not owned that many scopes. I am therefore not an expert on everything out there from a personal ownership point of view.

I really need to have a big sale. I can say I have only had 4 that I considered junk. It took about 10 years to figure that out. I take that back I bought a box of 20 scopes on ebay for $23 including shipping Most of them were junk. I did get a good v-22 and a B-6 weaver in the batch.
