My zeiss 3x9 is on backorder so that gives me a chance to reconsider my choice...   I held a 4200 and conquest side by side the other day and noticed the zeiss has better glass which is why I ordered it, if I would change my order it would be to get a 6500 but only because it has a nice 16x zoom.

I read that the 6500 has the same picture as a 4200 which means the zeiss would have a better image than the 6500... correct?

Which scope has better glass?     would the 6500 be the better deal if it was sold for $100 more than the zeiss?

thanks for reading

Zeiss has a better Image picture in my opinion. However the 6500 is no slouch and that 6x zoom is amazing!

Is the glass on the 3200 different than the 4500 and 6500?

3200 glass is not the same as the 4200/6500

I think I'd go with the Zeiss.  The conquest line of scopes is the best value going IMO.

The 6500's may have the same glass as 4200's but the ones I've compared, the 6500 looked a little better.  There are other factors besides glass alone that contribute to optical performance.  I own a Conquest in 4.5-44 and I love it.  But I'm not sure it's better than the 6500's I've shot with.  Both scopes are amazing optically.  Razor sharp contrast IMO.

Good point.  They are impressive!  If I needed another 30mm right now it'd be on top of my list.

I wish the 4200 in 6-24x40 I'm looking at had 50moa.  Can you believe a measely 26moa.  That's my hangup.   Leaning toward the 6-24 Monarch instead mainly because of that.

I think the best scope in the 6500 line is going to be the 1.25-8x32.   I'm gonna have to get one of those.

The one I used was not as clear & bright as my Conquest but the glass seemed like a 4200 .I like the higher magnification but the extra cost I would buy the Sightron S3.

Just got it from SWFA and mounted it on my .22 mag ! So far.......size is nice , like the turrets a lot, very clear in broad daylight , like the mil-dot(never had one), and it has tons of eye relief. Don't like how silvery the reticule is in bright light !! I'd say the Conquest has the reticule advantage for sure............will test more tonight !
