Looking for a scope for coyote hunting.  Thinking about a 1.25-4x bushnell 4200.  How does the illuminated recticles look if they are turned off?  Is there still crosshairs to shoot with?  Just a little worried about dead batteries/electronics.

Anyone have that bushnell or something similar they like?

That bushnell is a great scope and you can still see the crosshair with no Illumination. Stretching the price range a bit here but this Trijicon Accupoint is a great Illuminated scope and does not take batteries.

The Trijicon is definately worth the money in my opinion  but if it is to far out of your practical price range i would go with the Bushnell and run and not look back. You won't be dissapointed either way.

Other than the face they have no Illumination this is a great scope. All though for coyote I prefer some sort of Illumination unless you are spotlighting. Just my .02

Big Negative on the fire fly reticle with me. Useless for hunting coyote seeing as it has to be illuminated with a flashlight and does not hold illumination very long. Predator hunting almost all of the time requires quick fast shots. You would never have time to illuminate that reticle and get the shot off. If you want illuminated go with something truely illuminated not something like the fire fly.
