I'm getting ready to try some 150 VLD's in a .270WSM and was curious if anyone has given this a shot yet?  If so, do you have any starting/max load data?

You can get data from Berger themselves. don't start off by what others suggest , get it in black and white.     Wink

Coincidentally, I sent them an email about 15 minutes ago for information on that powder.  I know the powder hasn't been out long, so I just hope they've had a chance to do some tests with it...

Walt Berger will punch it in to quick load. That is how he came up with all the load information he gave me. I'm interested to see how those work out for you. I'd love to try them myself if I could ever find some. Everytime I go to the gunshop they are sold out.

Hey fellas.  I already got a return email from Bryan Litz, a ballistician with Berger.  I just sent him the email last night......great service!
Here is exactly what he sent me.  It looks like I might be sticking with the Reloader 19 if they haven't had a chance to work with the 17 in the next couple months.

Eric,

I’m pasting what we have for the 270 WSM.  Sorry we don’t have loads for the RE17 powder yet, it’s still a little too new.

I can order some, I was just hoping to run into a box while in a nearby town.

Can you get them cheap right from the factory? Might be worth looking in to.

R19, 4831 all worked pretty well for me.

Yeah, I used it with some 140gr. Sierra GameKings and it did very well.  I just figured since I'm gonna give the Berger's a shot that I'd try the RE17 with them.  But, I've got the 19 already so I'll use it first.  The difference is probably pretty negligable anyway.  I'm just working up a final load/bullet type and have it set in concrete before I have Kenton knobs made for this rifle/scope too.
