I've been looking on the bushnell site but it seems that they only have 2.5x10 or 4x16 but i've found several 3x9x40 at my usual dealers... http://www.competitorny.com/optics/bushnell.pl?page=bushnellelite42003-9x40,   so is that 3x9x40 true 4200 ?

And I plan on mounting it on a 30/06,  will the 4200 provide enough eye relief for such a large caliber?    I don't want to get kissedBig Grin

It seems that the link doesn't work but you can clearly see the 4200 3x9x40 in the link title

Yes it exists.  Please see the forum rules for an explanation of why your link does not work.

The eyerelief should be fine on a 30-06 unless it is very lightweight.

i just put my 3x9 4200 on my .375H&H.
i had it on my .264win mag, which with my 140gr handload would be comparable to the 30-06 recoil with a 150gr bullet no problems with the .264, so im sure you will be just fine with one on your 06.
They call me "Boots"
375H&H Mag: Yeah, it kills stuff "extra dead"

343 we will never forget

I have a 4200 3x9 on my kimber montana 300wsm and 1 on my 84 montana 308. Eye relief is just right for me and no issues with scope bite. These are very light rifles as all know. Both have been shot alot.

I use one on a 45-70 and do okay with it eye relief wise.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.
