Well Im pretty much narrowed it down to the two binoculars in which I want. The Vortex Razor or the Meopta Meostar? Both seem to get really good reviews on here. Im just looking for a really good quality binocular in the price range of these two. Im going to go with 10x or 12x. Which one do you guys recommend? Is the extra $100-$150 worth getting the Meostar over the Razor? Also does anyone know does the Meostar have a place or a way to mount a tripod? Give me your opinions? Any info will be nice.

Ok well I re-read my post after the comment, and mostly im not asking which size you guys perfer, just which binocular. Im pretty sure im going to get a 12x. I know alot of ppl don't prefer them, or try and talk ppl out of it, but I've used a 10x for many years and want the extra magnification. Mostly im going to use it for hunting, and scouting. Will be used for all hunting species, from waterfowl, to deer. Just wondering which binocular is the best between the two and if, the Meostar is tripod adaptible? And if the extra $100-$150 is worth going with the Meostar over the Razor. Looking mostly for a good low light binocular. I know that high magnification doesn't give you the best low light performance, but im just want your guys opinions on which binocular you think is better mostly in low light, the Razor or Meostar. Need a good quality, high end binocular with good magnification and still have good low light performance.

I have also heard that Meopta customer service sucks. Does any one have any experience with this. Just want the best binocular for around the price range of the two listed and if something goes wrong knowing that I will have no problem getting it replace or fixed?

You should be fine with meopta in 10x -12x, the glass is that good. Second my 10x meopta does not have tripod mounting hardware. Vortex probably has the better customer service, but I've never had to use meo.ptas

Both are excellent glass. If you want 12x, get 12x. I have used it a lot with various glasses in many kinds of hunting, and it works. You'll have to refocus more often than with less X's, but then most of us can use more exercise. Higher power DOES make a difference at longer distances.
Vortex has great customer service, but Meoptas are built really, really stout. I have used several Meopta binoculars for the past several years in rough, wet conditions and they are still in perfect working order.

I do not remember whether Meopta binoculars have a tripod mount, but Vortex Razor definitely does.
Optically, I think Meopta has a slight edge over the Razor though. Mechanically, both are excellent. One thing to keep in mind is that a 12x version of the Meopta has an appreciably shorter eyerelief than the lower magnification version and then the Razor. I had a harder time setting it up just right for my face shape. ILya |

Now that is an opening some would be unable to resist. I, however, will merely call your attention to it.

"I had a harder time setting it up just right for my face shape." Some might take that as an opportunity for disparaging remarks and jocularity... Not me though.

My dad has the Meopta 12x and loves them. The glass is very good and he uses them in low light all the time and sees very well with them. I have compared them side by side to my 10x Meopta many times optically they look the same to me other than the extra mag which is nice in some situations.

Thanks for the replys everyone, You guys are making me lean towards the Meopta. Before this i was kinda leaning towards the Razor bc its a little cheaper, has interchangeable eyecups, and ect. But maybe the extra money is worth the Meopta. Keep the reviews coming

I think you'd be happy with either one. Boils down to what feels best in your hands.

Just to put this out to your attention. Not sure if you want more than 12x, but Vortex has this new one at 15x that should be coming out soon. http://vortexoptics.com/binoculars/view/vortex-kaibab-15x56-binocular

I have a pair of 8x42 Razors that I really like. One evening I let a few old time woodsmen I know try them out in low light and they couldn't believe their eyes, they just kept saying wow! Although I haven't abused them, they feel very sturdy. I honestly feel they are the best value for your money.
