Ok is the $200 worth the difference between the sps and the VSF. 22-250. Opinions

If were talking the sps varmint and the VSSF II, for $200 more I'd go for the vsf. It retails for almost double what the sps does. I don't know if it will shoot any better, but I think its a better deal.

The stock is significantly better. The VSF has an HS precision free floated stock with a full length aluminum bedding block. Yes it is worth the difference.

This is the VSF II 2006 New, H&S Precision Kevlar stock vs the sps Black plastic $550 vs $750 +- It is not the VSSF II It does not come in left hand. I love the thumbhole version but it is not left hand either.

I think it depends on what you want to do with the 22-250. I have one with the HS stock and it is an excellent gun, though not fluted. It is deadly accurate and heavy. It is great for the bench or hunting out of a vehicle.
If you're on the move for predators and such the SPS might be a better choice. I have an older RS version that is a little heavier. But it is still any easy to carry rifle. Edited by tahqua - January/28/2009 at 17:32 |

OK, fixed but now. But, I can't delete the previous drivel. Enough of the hijack.
The HS stock is definitely worth more money if you aren't carrying a lot. |

I have this the VSF rifle in a .223 and love it. Deadly accurate. Just found the sps varmint local at a fair price. My favorite is the 700VSL Thumbhole But it is right hand. I guess I could relearn to shoot rt handed. The scope I got from Ted really needs to be on a 22-250. The VSF would be the most familiar for me to shoot if I configure it like the .223.
