The Kahles CL has a 42 mm objective on the 3-9x. If you can find one on the sample list, I'd go for that. The 42 isn't that much bigger than the 40 mm. The CL is also further up the product line than the KX series.

I have NEVER had any problems with either of my Kahles scopes holding zero...and, quite frankly, I find them to gather light better than my Swarovski.

Very interesting. What kind of Kahles and Swaro do you have? And thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply.

Here it's the 1.5-6x42 C and PH, and the 3-9x42 CL and the 2.5-10x42 PH. But that's just my opinion...

How, exactly, do scopes "gather light"? Sounds like a wonderful feature. How does it work? |

pretty sure he didn't actually mean "gather" rather, it seems to be more bright, at least that's how I would describe its ability in low light!

Thanks Tip. Let me clarify that, my Kahles seem brighter than my Swarovskis...

My Kahles scopes have been perfect. I have lowly AH series scopes, to boot! I have a 2-7x36 rimfire on a Cooper M57 JSR .22lr and a 3-9x42 on a Cooper M52 in .270win. They are impressive enough I bought a pair of their binos, the 8x32s. Couldn't be happier. Better scopes than my Zeiss Conquests and way better than my VX-IIIs.
