Just wondering if there are really any flip ups that stay on the scope even when pulled by briars and weeds. Lost my objective cover last week to my Kahles CL but it wasn't the first time I had to pick it up from falling off. Only this time I never found it. At this point I have given up on flip ups. Anyone care to give advice?

Some have given me gentle flack for being a manufacturer's rep, and I am definitely not unbiased, but the ScopeShield neoprene scope covers will solve it. I replaced all my flip ups, hunted with them this fall, and was so blown away I tracked down the inventor in Alaska and now represent him.

Leupold scope coats work just as well. I think I will stay with those and I can get them here at SWFA........ but thanks anyway.

The Leupold neoprene covers are excellent. They are designed to protect scopes in the rack and in transit, but were not designed for hunting-speed removal. I have one!

Agreed, their great for transport, at camp, and in the safe but not the field. |

No they were not made that way I agree.....but if you are HUNTNIG with crap covering your scope then are you really hunting,...or just walking around every second counts and it takes seconds to get crap off your scope..there for personally I do not hunt with anything on my scope and there for they are only used for transport and storage as you mentioned.I'm sure some people do leave them on at all times but I want to be ready always the animals don't wait around that long.so as you can see the quick removal is a gimmick in my eyes.

O they have already that (barrel covers) made most famously by Trojan. I like to use ultra lubricated for fast, easy, and convenient removal for all those quick encounters while in action. Hows that marketing? want a website? hahahaha

The Leupold Alumina flip back covers are the best. They are expensive, and only fit Leupold, I guess. I could never stand scope covers until I tried them.

Judging by the post above and this post
it is clear that he has no content to contribute other than SPAM. Thanks but no thanks Mr. Lamb, there is a reason why the Butler Creek flip-up lens covers are the #1 selling lens cover on the planet.
Guys, check this "thing" out. http://www.scopeshieldcover.com/how_to_use/default.asp
I don't need some huge flap of neoprene hanging off my rifle (attached to my sling swivel). What happens if you don't want your scope covered up while you are hunting? You have to contend with that monstrosity. I guess you take it off and you better hope you have quick release sling swivels. Once off now you gotta find a place to pack it. NO THANKS!
Flip ups work great and if you need extra protection during transport or storage combine the flip ups with a Scopecoat.

Do ya think their motivation was really to make something better than a Butler Creek or a Scopecoat? Nah their motivation was most likely fueled by the mighty dollar.

Well.....at least Terry Lamb spurned some conversation on the subject. Sometimes men must be challenged to get motivated. Doug

I can't fault anyone for trying to earn a dollar and also get his name recognized. Noteriety and monetary freedom is an American dream. I do have a problem with anyone trying to use another companies forum to do so though.

I must make an apology. I found this forum while doing a google search involving scope covers. I came right into the forum without realizing it was part of this fine retailer's website. From the huge number of visits, it is obvious this is a very well respected merchant and a popular one. I too would find it offensive for one merchant to use another's site for promotion...outside the bounds of ethics for me.

Ah gee, give the guy a break. I wouldn't necessarily want one since once I'm in the field the Leupold cover I have comes off. I got some alumina raincotes for the Leupold scope currently on the rifle because solid flip-ups seem a little slow to me in a quick reaction situation. Mostly I got the raincotes because I hate cleaning all the field debris from the scope lenses. With the new Nightforce 2.5-10x32 I have on order, I'll be trying out the polarized see-through flip-up lens caps that come with it.
