Hey, carbuyersfriend, for that kind of money you could be looking at the Leupold 3X9 EFR, probably a whole bunch of Sightrons, you would be a little shy of the $430 needed for the Bushnell 4200 4X16 ( side focus)!!!  Also the Vortex 4X16 which is very similar to the Bushnell... Bucky

For the money you are talking about , you are in a position to get a really good scope for a 22!!!  Big Grin

If you can go a bit higher you should look at the side focus 10x super sniper on the sample list.  The rear focus SS is also great and I would take it any day over the millet.  I had a Super Sniper on my .50 BMG and it held up well.  Unfortunately at $300 you will not find anything good that has side focus and target knobs.  You can get great glass for $300 though like the Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x49 for $290.

SuperSniper, it'll take what your 300 can give.

It is a great scope for the price, nothing near that price will beat it.  And it has target knobs.

In that price range you have alot to chose from. Anything in the Bushnell Elite 3200 or 4200 series will do you GREAT...........Nikon has some good scope in the Buckmaster series that would also do you proud....

My advice (and Swaro's and Zeiss' and MANy others'): do not mount a 1" scope on a magnum rifle.

I dealt with the same thing awhile back and called Swaro, Zeiss, Trijicon, and a few others: almost no one recommends mounting anything smaller than 30mm tube on a magnum, especially if it is a lite-weight gun.

My $0.02, get something VERY STRONG, and the SS is very strong.

Only if it came in a magnification other then 10x+ if it was a variable 4-16 then i would have had it on my gun that same day i picked up my rifle
