yea it's not the scope at all, it's the reticle, i think you are asking a lot. you just bought some of the best japanese optics in the world.i can see the reticle in my cheaper scopes later than in my S3's scopes because the reticles are much thicker in my cheaper scopes, you need a thicker reticle, and you have one of the best scopes price wise that money can buy, so dont blame the scope blame the fine reticle and get a thicker one.

I really like my Zeiss great scope, but now that I've used a Trijicon 3x9x40 TR20 it is mounted on my go to deer gun now.......

The Zeiss' laser etched reticle remain black as coal in all conditions.  If you are a stickler about seeing the reticle the Zeiss Z-Plex or No. 4 will make you happy.  The optics however may not be any better than a Big Sky.  I can tell you the Zeiss will look much better than a VX III at dusk and dawn and the reticle remains razor sharp and easy for my eyes to see.  That's not saying a VX III with the proper reticle will keep you from harvesting game either.

That maybe true with a vxlll but a vx3 and a conquest have almost identical image quality in all conditions IMHO. I have both in 4.5 x14 as far as the reticle selection that's personal.

I really like the big skies.
