The temperature gauge in my car hit 92 degrees today in So Cal. Dam those Santa Ana winds!! I hope some of this heat reaches those of you who are freezing this winter

I know this is going to sound stupid but I have lived in California all my life. Of course I have to mow my lawn no matter what temperature it never gets cold enough. Does everyone else not have to do it because everything is frozen? Or am I missing it all together?

Usually in Texas we stop having to mow the yard in late October and don't have to start up again until April.

Uhh......hey, monster.....as a rule one doesn't need to mow the lawn in the winter because the grass is kinda dormant and doesn't grow at all, basically. Here is a photo taken in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. [ Fred MacMurray was from Beaver Dam, you trivia-lovers...] See NO MOWING!!! ( sometimes we have to find cars and pick ups in huge piles of snow however, so we are still doing " yard work "......)
Here is another photo of those spoiled people in sunny California!! Except these poor devils are up in Mammoth Lakes.....( the last time I was in Mammoth Lakes--- in February 2005--- there was Four Feet of snow on the ground....... ) This looks like quite a little snowstorm!!

Thanks for the info Ed. I just figured with Chris being in Texas that snow would not be to much of a problem. I know where my family lives near Houston they don't get much snow if any at all (Although they did get one snow flurry this season)

Thanks Ed. Now I feel more at home in this thread. By the way, I still mow my grass when it looks like that.

In that stuff you could get lost just going to the lawnmower shed! They would not find you till spring when the lawn needs mowing again.
