I'm really liking the look and feel of the new Browning X-bolt. Anyone had a chance to shoot one? I want to get one but I've got to sell my A-bolt first. I don't really need two .270's.

The X-Bolt is okay. They feel cheap to the touch and the triggers are so-so. I would go with a Rem 700 if it were me.

sell your A-Bolt.... that's blasphemy! How about getting the X-Bolt in a little different caliber.... like a nice shooting .260 or 7mm-08!

Yeah, I hear ya Tip 69. I'm one of those guys who isn't so interested in having multiple guns that overlap closely in performance. If I was gonna have 3 rifles (my other is a .204ruger) I'd get something in a much larger caliber.
No offense Big Daddy, Remingtons are fine (my .204 is a Rem) but I was hoping for input from someone who actually owns an X-bolt not just a "Ford is better than Chevy" opinion. I've handled them in the store and they feel pretty nice in my hands.

Yeah your right I don't owne one but I have worked on 50 or so of them. The triggers can be a trick to lighten up. In my hands the X-bolt feels like a economy modle. It dosn't seem to have the heavy I can take anything feel to it.As for how they shoot. I would have it glass beaded and go from there. first thur 4 shots hit PIA but after that it starts to walk up and left.I have seen 5 do this.

I was at a large local gun shop recently and most brands I handled felt a bit cheaper than back in the day when I was younger. I guess that's probably true about almost everything though |

I like browning rifle pretty well. the new X-bolt just has a toyish feel to me. kinda like the 770's have. I'm not saying the rifle is a bad choice but I feel there are better built rifle out there for the same green backs that will make you happy r in the long run.

Kinda like when I first handled the Remington model 700 in 1962.
