I bought a 1973 ruger 10/22 dsp and it came with a period Bushnell Scopechief 3-8 Twenty-two scope. It is dovetailed and mounts to the gun on a kind of double dovetailed rail. It is actually very clear and I would like to keep the period look. Both the gun and scope look like new. The only problem is that the eyepiece and power ring assembly are attached together and that assembly is sloppy to the tube. Was wondering if it is something that would be easily repairable as the crosshairs are in this unit and wobble with it. Any ideas?

I'm sure you know but there should be a ring /lock between the power and eye piece this is to adjust the focus of the cross hairs...it sounds like they are stuck together and backed out way too much hence the wobble try to release them and re adjust. don't use tools.

Nope, the loose part is in front of that, under the power ring. Scope could be called mint, not sure how much I wanna wrestle with it.
