Just now got a call from Jim Dubell at Clearwater Reboring telling me that my 1924 Yugoslavian Mauser bbl'ed action is being shipped. It's now a 9.3x62mm w/a 20"bbl. Got me a winter project!

Yep!..........That`s a 20" blaster after my own heart all-right. IMO, keep your scope a low powered variable like a 1x4 or a 1.5x5, with good of FOVs, good eye relief, that is fast aiming, light and more compact, that will keep that rifle a quick handler.

Silver, this rifle was already customized (mid 70's)when I bought it in the mid 80's($200 or $225 ?). Its got a Buehler safety.
I've got 4 scopes to pick from. Two old Weavers that were redone at WSRS in El Paso,a K2.5 w/plex and a K4 w/post and crosshair. A Weaver K2.5 Classic. Also got a VXIII 1.75-6x32 w/hvy plex. May even end up with something new by next season.

Because of the economical down turn, my African hopes may have been dashed for quite awhile! The .375 Ruger is or should I say,,, was,,, going to be my one carry and do-all African rifle.
But! You can still own a 375 without going to Africa.

No real world experience here, but everything I've read or heard says you don't need a big-bore for moose. Not saying you shouldn't use it! Hope you get to hunt some bison and bear soon so you can post some pics!

A 30-06 or 7mm or .308 is plenty for moose or Bison for that matter.

Well! Aside from the fact that a 300 WSM is capable of downing anything in N/A, I still like a having a 375 caliber. I enjoy shooting one and will enjoy hunting with one, especially with a great handling 375 like the Alaskan..........And I can still use the 375 for some hogs too.
