I just purchased a Remington 700 PSS in .308 and I am getting to the scope stage.  I currently have a Leupold Vari X III tactical 3.5-10x40 1" tube (basically this is  the current Mark 4 PR I believe).  I would like my range to be from 100 to 750 yards.  Should I consider a scope with a 30mm tube or will the Leupold fit the bill?  My current base is a Farrell 15 MOA.

Thanks in advance for the help and Chris as soon as I get the package I will go with I will be by to have you mount it.

Sam

I'm not sure how much "up" that Loopie has, but with that 15 moa base, you should be able to shoot out too 750 yards or better with that caliber.

I'd stick with the Leupold and see how it does. You probably will break the PSS in at or around 100 yards anyway. Right?

Nice rifle choice.

I purchased a Rem. VSLH in .308 instead of the PSS. I'm a lefty and the PSS only comes in  a RH chassis.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

roughly 25MOA elevation for the named scope + 15 for the base = 40MOA.

That will get you to 750Yrds.  Allowing for some margin, I estimate that you should be able to get out to 900-950yrds before you max out the adjustment.
