Does anyone remeber the vid from Shooting Times that shows this?  I don't remember how to get to it, but it explains this better than I can.
.............Yes,,, I do! That video is with Wayne Van Zwoll.......And he is 100% correct regarding scope wobble. Magnify the target more and the scope wobble increases, which in turn, increases the settling time from target acquisition to the shot.

For all hunting (except for varmits), most think that if they are shooting a long range and flat shooting cartridge, that to satisfy all needs, a 12x scope to a 16x max on the high end is needed...... Not so!

Also for 200 yard and less precision bench shooting, higher magnifications don`t necessarily reduce the group sizes. For comparison, there was an on-line article on this subject, where there was very little difference in actual group sizing at 100 yards between a 1.5x scope vs a 35x scope. For precision shooting, the reticle choice (thinner vs thicker) would be more of a factor than the power setting.

Many associate better groupings with higher magnifications. With longer range competitive shooting that is true. But to be successful in hunting deer sized animals and larger out to 500 and 600 yards, it is not! 3x to 5x, maybe to 6x for some, is all that`s needed for most if not all,,,,,, eyes!

oh you mean

swfa  hosts this sight. the pro staff is ok

reloading isnt to bad to get into, a few hundred bucks and you would be ready to roll, gun shows are good places to start looking for used equipment.

From what I have seen using the search function they aren't too good in low light.

my brother in law has one on his .270 and it works for him, but i can guarantee you that my monarch and team primos are way better and right now the team primos is less than $200 but they only come in matte black.

Yeah, I have had or own both the Pro Staff and the Buckmaster. The BM is really a better scope than the Pro Staff by a good margin. I'd go with the BM or the Primos Monarch SWFA deal but it ain't shiny silver.Wink

you would have to figure out what those circles in the bdc would equal for your rifle since they are calibrated for a muzzleloader they would be off im guessing by a lot.

Actually, you can do quite better and get a Monarch with a BDC for $200, my friend.

The Primos is a Monarch, not a BM.
