would like to know how many are members of the NRA.I am currently ,and have been for 10 years. my membership is about to expire in 09 but I have mixed emotions I know what they stand for, our rights to bear arms ,and a whole lot more but I believe so much of our money is wasted on mail and other propaganda when it could be used for habitat, more places to hunt for members/ect. what are your thoughts. be sincere.

I have been a member of more than 10 years. While there are some inefficiencies, there is no better organization to uphold the 2nd Amendment. Their offshoot organization, NRA-ILA has a staff of attorneys (unpaid for much of what they do) who can mobilize on very short notice. WE NEED THEM. I also belong to GOA.

You MUST belong to the NRA because they are the most powerful of the Second Amendment organizations. The Gun Owner's of America and the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms are the two most uncompromising....but they don't have the membership numbers or the political clout of the NRA .....but they are more in line with me. So, Belong to ALL OF THEM......and don't worry about the small stuff....
If you're worried about habitat join Ducks Unlimited and stuff like that!!
Any questions?

I've been a member for over 30 years. ILA has it's ups and downs. If you want ILA to be better then you have to get people on the board who will make it better. The NRA board needs to be lobbied, just like congress. That means you need to be a voting member. That means you have to save those issues that have the address of the board members and contact them. Or in our case in Southern Indiana we got enough members to sign a petition to get our own board member, Johnny Nugent.

Join the NRA, support it, and help make it better!
Without the NRA, we would already be a disarmed society.
Freedom exists in this country for one major reason: Our armed citizenry is the fourth (and ultimate) branch of our government.

I find it to be a down right shame that we even need to have a lobby for something that is supposed to be a Constitutionally protected and most basic of all rights. I am a member though. I wish that we could just all do a march on Washington so they could see the Army that is the absolute and bottom line defenders of freedom.

Been a NRA member for about 5 years, and will continue. I agree that they waste money on mailings, but they are a great organization fighting for you rights.

Well, even if you don't agree with every NRA policy, in the current climate I'd say the NRA is more needed/important than ever. |
