ok every-one that has replied here seems to be an optic genius, ive been looking at the 4200 elite tactical, is that the best scope in that price range, I just cant afford a $1000 scope wish i could, I was seriously looking at the 3200 elite tactical and swfa's SS but wanted a gun that can target shoot at 100yds as well as 1000yds and I was told to get away from the 10x power range and get a nice variable power scope, any recommendations greatly appreciated,
I need to stay under $550.
also any one live near nebraska?
I need a shooting buddy..lol
Thanks guys

The swfa ss is an excellent scope for this use. especially if you are only shooting at targets. Do you intend to use this rifle for hunting also? I like the 10x scopes. If you stray too far away from 10x you will be fighting mirage. The 4200 in 4-16x40 or the 50mm version is about the best variable I could recommend for this price range. I know there is one member who has been here a while from the Omaha area. I won't give any names. If he wants to be found, he'll show up. I'm from extreme southeast SD. Probably about the next closest to you. What kind of stick is this scope for, and what kind of targets?

I have had a 4200 Elite 2.5X10 for several years.
It's been great. Bushnell fixed the small problem I had after 12 years for $10 shipping. Very clear glass. Not an Uber-Tactical and I'd rather have tactical knobs, but it's a very good scope for the money. |
