I was initially a little disappointed with a "Sample-List" Leopold Mk 4 I recently bought.

The "lite ring marks" included a very deep gouge, the turrets were a little mushy and I never realized how small a 1/4 minute dot reticle looked. There was also a slight reddish cast to the edge of target image.

Chris's staff was excellent to deal with and offered to refund my money or credit it towards a replacement.

They also hooked me up with Leupold's service folks who told me to send it back for a complete check-up. I asked them to change the reticle to a mildot. About 2 weeks later it came back...and I was charged their standard $159 reticle-fee.

The Mil Dot reticle change was a major improvement and they also replaced the turret mechanisms so they are nice and crisp now.

I don't know what else they did, but the image quality is excellent, sharp with no "edge ghosting" at all.

Between SWFA and Leupold's Lifetime Customer Service Guarantee, I am a happy camper.

The Mk 4 still has a bad "ring gouge" underneath. But I've got my rings over it now so it doesn't show.

I bought it for the "glass" so the "user scars" don't really bother me.

I suspect I wouldn't have had such a positive experiance with a "challenged" pre-owned scope from another maker or another retailor.

Those Leupold Target Dots can be a real pian at times. One of the smallest I have ever dealt with. All of us here at SWFA appreciate your kind words and your business.
