I would appreciate opinions on the scope that is at least 6X24X50 and has the most robust/ reliable/repeatable internals for dialing yardage.

hmm i dont know much about nightforce other than they are heavy and are made in orofino idaho, cant help you there. need koshkin or rifledude for this type of stuff. they make excellent target scopes, i dont know how they would do in a varmint setting

there is a lot of 6x24 scopes for cheaper, but remember that cheaper glass with higher magnification equals pissed off consumer and happy hogs!
let me know if your looking for sub $1000 scopes stuff like  bushnell 6500's 4200's etc.
6.5x284 kicks ass too by the way

Ditto on the Swaro.  I have that scope and it would be great for your application.

How about considering this scope.  I have a 3-12 and have had perfect tracking so far in the few tests I have tried.

http://www.swfa.com/pc-12461-591-burris-6-24x50-xtreme-tactical-xtr-30mm-rifle-scope.aspx

Not going to be the glass quality of a Swaro, but for under a $1000 it is good.  I think it is the same quality as the 6500 although I have not had the chance to look through them side by side.

I appreciate all your comments. They have been very helpfull. I am presently seriously considering a Sightron SIII 8X32. I will continue to do research following your comments.
Whatever I decide will be my Xmas present because I have been such a good boy this year.
