I need a scope for a heavy 308 rifle. Targets to 700. I like the leupold fine duplex. I do not like vague feeling 1/4 clicks on the Leupold target turrets. M3 cams sound like the ticket but I have not any experiacce with them. I also do not find fine duplex and M-3 in the same sentance. Is there a good, sharp, clear, easy to adjust for range scope that I should look at? Again, I need; Fine duplex, simple 'clicks' to 700, awsome optically, Large exit pupil [ or forgiving eye reliefas possible].

Dale, I looked at a Nikon 5.5 - 15.5 and liked it. 1/4 clicks, which, to me, makes better use of my math, Fine enough duplex, like that too. I do not know how much elevation may remain after mounting. The one inch tube may also not be optimum.
I do know that I will buy one of these anyway for a varmint rifle as it suits me just right for that and my style of shooting at dogs using eyeball to brain holdovers to 300 with a 223.
Am I right in that what I stated previously as needed for targets to 700 I would be better suited with another type? |
