I think I am about to finish off the arsenal with a .22 magnum !

I am leaning toward a Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35 for it $169! Would this be a better scope than say a Nikon Prostaff $129 or Bushnell trophy $129 of similar size ?

If I were going to plunk down anymore cash................would you go with a Conquest 2-7x32 $359, Vortex Viper 2-7x32 $299, or a BUshnell 4200 3-9x40 $299 with jacket ????

It's not like I am deer hunting...........but would like something good in low light for squirrels, racoons, rabbits, etc. !!

Open to any suggestions as well !!

Unless this is an extremely nice .22wmr, I think your first options are the most logical and you could add a few other scope in the $200.00 and under catagory.  If you can afford it, then by all means opt. for something better.

I am narrowing it down to possibly a Browing t-bolt composite stalker or Sako Quad sythetic. So pretty nice...........not a Cooper or anything.........but pretty nice one !!

Add the weaver and sightron rimfire scopes to your list.

The Weaver RV7 or RV9 would be a great choice. So would a Weaver 4x rimfire.

My Ruger 77 22WMR has a 3.5-10x50 EFR Leupold so I am prejudiced towards the V9 in the Weaver. It has an AO should you need to adjust for close in shots at small critters. You can open back up to a 100 yds for the longer shots when needed. You would be hard pressed to find more value with very good optics. http://www.swfa.com/pc-2319-257-weaver-3-9x32-rv9-classic-rimfire-rifle-scope.aspx
Another excellent choice is the Leupold 3-9x33 EFR. It is one of the best scopes available for the WMR, IMO. It costs quite a bit more but that cost will only hit you once. http://www.swfa.com/pc-3623-100-leupold-3-9x33-vx-ii-rimfire-efr-riflescope.aspx

Here's my 77

Good luck,
Doug

What about the bushnell 2-7x32 or the Burris Fullfield II 2-7x35?  I'm also looking for something to top a .22 WMR (CZ 452 Lux).  Appreciate all the other suggestions.  Also looking at the Monarch, but don't want to spend the extra dough on the EFR.  Weavers look interesting, though.

I am a little on the far end of normal and I openly admit it, that said I would ask why put a lesser scope on a rifle because it is just a .22wmr??

Better shooters come from form and practice, so what optics do you have on your other guns?

If the optics you put on your .22wmr are similiar to the optics you put on your larger caliber guns then shooting your .22wmr will be viable practice and still be a lot of fun.

I am a firm believer that you can not hit what you can not see, I like the features of Leupold so I own a few I have Zeiss and S&B as well. I generally always have the same or similiar reticles and thus have avoided what I see others do at the range. That learning curve trying to remember how "this" scope works.

If everey rifle coming out of the safe feels and looks basically the same then any rifle coming out of the safe will perform the same. Find the optics that you have on your larger caliber guns that you really like, look at the brand to find a scope with the same features only less magnification for the 22.wmr and you will be headed down the right path.
