Here is what I like the best so far from what I have heard and seen. I would like the scopes in a 4-12 but because of a money issue it will probably be in the 3-9. My price range goes up to almost $300.
Bushnell Elite 3200 or Burris Fullfield II or Leupold VX-1
I personally have never bought a scope so I am pretty much in the fog. |

Leupold would be my last choice in your case. Toss up between the other two.

I'd opt for the construction and fully multicoated lenses of the Fullfield II.

anything but the Leupold VX-I
not fully multicoated + 3-piece tube + "friction" adjustments = A pretty crummy scope |

Fullfield II with the free spotter would be my pick. |

I have to agree with others and avoid the VX I...Fullfield is well made but not as bright as the 3200 and lacks Rainguard...I'd go with the 3200

Another tough one. I'd probably go with the 3200 because of the
rain guard or step up a notch to the 4200! Watch the Samplelist
here on SWFA for some deals coming up; especially after all the big
shows. I picked up a Bushnell 4200 in 2.5-10x40 a couple years
ago from the Samplelist at a super price, but you have to be patient
and check often because they go fast!

I think that Fullfield II is the brightest of the bunch (the only fully multicoated scope of the three and it shows if you look through side by side). I'd get a 3-9x40 Fullfield II with BallisticPlex.
