4x versu 5x on top..4200 gives you Rainguard and Illum dot ... Both should prove plenty rugged for any application.. For the money, the 4200 would seem to be the better value., but either would serve you well.

Get the 4200, the Luppy isn't worth the extra $$.

Not that you need another "me too", but I agree 100% - the 4200 is the better value.

Never mind the fact that you get a free rain jacket with it. Yippee

How much is your piece of mind worth knowing if you do have a problem that the scope maker will stand behind his product and fix the issue no questions asked??

160 bucks seems like a small price to pay for that.
Knowing that my purchase is supporting the US worker and the US economy instead of Japans makes me wet too, but I digress.

Bushnell does that to.  They just don't charge extra for it.  Wink

.............I am a fan of whatever scope works best for my needs and for the rifle and caliber I`m putting it on!

I have NO loyalty with just one brand or only one brand! If a 1" tubed Elite 4200 had been available in a 1.5-5x20 German #4, weighing 9.5 oz., for less money than the same VX3 which I purchased, I would have bought the 4200.

IMO and over the long term, better to put the right scope on for a particular rifle, even if for a $150 to $200 more, than mounting a scope that compromises some here and there. Of course, if the difference in price is several hundreds of dollars, then some budgets will certainly call for more compromising.

You digress alot, and I hear something about a shoot-out that never happened.

And, FYI: read the new leupold boxes, they no longer say, "Made in the USA" because they ain't made in the USA.  Think what you want (you will anyway) but Bushnell stands behind their scopes just as well as leupold - and for allot less money.

I have thought for some time that one of the VXIII leupold 1.5-5 from the custom shop with target knobs added and balistic compensating marked knobs would make a nice optic which could dial in compensation for trajectory.  The bushnell is the better glass plus the illumination kind of makes it a no brainer unless you alter the Leu at the custom shop.

My dear Coolaide DRINKER, I've got my hands full chasing bad guys and keeping our streets clean from thugs and felons. I have very little time left over for formal training sessions. If little tricky wants to fork over some green backs for a private training session or two, then thats another matter all together.
My training cost me blood, sweat and tears, baby, so whats a few bucks compared to that?

Your dismissed now.
