I got a savage model 10MLII muzzerloader. It is getting upgraded from a leupold rifleman to a elite 4200. Right now it has a weaver base with weaver quad lock rings. Should I go ahead and upgrade the rings and bases too or will these be find.

Please for your own sake throw away the weaver quad lock rings I bought some too and they are the absolute worst rings that I have ever purchased.  Warne rings will serve you nicely without being unreasonably expensive however I really like the Burris Signature rings because they have a plastic insert the scope rides in which prevents it from being scratched and allows you to use different inserts to add plus moa or shim the scope in a particular direction. I particularly like the dual dove tail rings for a musket as the recoil is considerable.
Note that Burris dual dovetail will work in Leupold dual dovetail bases also. The Leupold dual dovetail rings are steel and work well also. I have gone primarily to duall dovetail on my muskets.

That is what I figured. Since I got to zero the new scope might as well give her a good set of rings. When I bought these I hadn't found this site and didn't know no better. I guess we live and learn.
