I have read that a lot of people like the Nikon Monarchs while at the same time many like the Weaver Grand Slams. I have seen a lot of Nikon Monarchs on ebay listed as new in the box and priced less than a Weaver Grand Slam can be purchased for. Which would be the better overall scope in the brightness, resoloution and holding its zero areas? With the price being the same which scope is worth that price?

I have seen a Grand Slam once. Nice scope. I was flat impressed.

But, the Monarch is a favorite scope of mine now. Nikon has given friends great customer service, the scope is a steal for the money spent.

I don't think you could go wrong either way though.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

Another vote here for the Monarch.

I think they are very close with a slight edge going to the Weaver because of the famed Micro-Trac adjustments they use.
