Which do you like on a Swarovski AV 3-10x42 the 4 or 4A reticle? I keep going back and forth, I can't make up my mind, help!

I personally like the 4A. The section in the reticle that is finer is a tad bit wider on the 4A.

What are you going to be using the scope for? The application will help determine the better reticle.

Thanks guys, I'll be using it on a Remington CDL SF in 300 WSM for all around big game hunting. I'll hunt with it in the east, on western hunts and I'm thinking of doing either a caribou or moose hunt in Canada.

You will want the thicker reticle for low light situations then. That would be the better choice given what you want to use it for.

................I`d go with the 4A. Allows for a little more target exposure at the crosshairs and imo, it is a slightly better reticle for hunting purposes.

Both reticles are the same thickness one is just spread out more than the other in the finer portion of the reticle. I still say 4A. Also they only make that model of the AV 3-10 in the 4A.

Well Chris ll settled that one by showing us that in that particular model 4A is the only option.

I have that same scope but with Ballistic reticule and like that reticule allot.  The #4 is a great reticule, but the ballistic has shown to be dead-nutz for me out to about 450 (longest shot.)

It is a great scope, you will enjoy it immensely.

Thanks guys, I'm almost there, a few more pay periods and that pretty little scope will adorn my beautiful Remington CDL SF! I only wish I could get that scope in stainless, oh well...

If you do end up getting an AV, Swaro has a coupon for a free, looks to be a fleece vest, on their website.....  Would have been nice if they offered the same deal to Z6 Buyers. Whacko
