We have 100 factory blem BSA 4-16x40 Illuminated Mil-Dot scopes for half off our already unbeatable price.

Adjustable Objective goes down to 10 yards

Aluminum screw on lens covers

1/8 moa target style turrets

4" Sun-shade

We have not been able to locate a blem on one yet, they appear to be 100% new in the box.  The fact that BSA gave them a different stock number and bar code makes me think that this was just there way of selling off some extra inventory at a discounted price.  Since they are calling them factory blemished it keeps dealers from trying to get stock balance credits on existing inventory and it keeps dealers from trying to get future "new" orders at the blem price.  Just my guess on the deal.

How much extra do I have to pay if I try to trade in my Simmons Blazer Boresighter on one???????

Seriously...if you still have my CC#, send me one. I am going to get another .22 soon and this looks like a good option.

Zero returns or DOAs.  We are moving them fast and only have about 40 left.

BSA in general I tried the catseye(2) and platinum series.  all of them failed to hold zero for me. I know others have good luck but not me. I will say that there customer service was pretty good they would send you another new immediately.....I heard that they are in the process of changing manufacturing places from china to japan this may improve there quality.....

We've had good luck with the Mil-Dot series, must be made in a different factory than the others.

Chris I will say that on your word that would make me consider given them another try, but because of your people, the people on this forum my eyes have been opened to the world of scopes. I have learned so much from so many on here I am now qualified to give an opinion, sometimes good sometimes bad (haha).

Well, after going round and round with SWFA today and doing some more looking on the internet for a scope for may father for Christmas I came upon this thread.  I thought I'd post here what I've posted on other threads today with me dealings with SWFA today:

So I was looking for a Christmas gift for my father this weekend and decided to check out some scopes.  SWFA most always has the best prices so I hit them up and found something to fit the bill.  A 4 to 16 mill-dot with illuminated rectcle for just under $50.00.

Well, since the time is short I decided to have it mailed directly to him so I thought I better call Monday so the order is done correctly.  I call this afternoon to place my order and the guy wants the stock number.  I had bookmarked the page but it is not coming up.  I discribe the product and he pulls up the scope but it is now almost $100.00!  What the heck?! I ask him.  He said that in also comes with a "free" bore siting kit.  Oh great, what about the ad from yesterday I ask.  Well we go back and forth a bit and he goes to ask someone.  Comes back and says that he just talked to their internet guy and he says that he did NOT make any changes to their ads.  I grumble and grouse to no avail and finally hang up.

I then do a little looking and find the cached file of the ad and call back.  This time a get a lady and try to order the product by the model number listed on the cached advertisment.  It does not come up, suprise suprise.  I go through the whole story with her and she tells me that the scope from yesterday was a "factory refirb that had a blemish on it.  I tell her that that was NOT what was on the add.  That the ad was for a new scope not a refirb.  We finally get to the point where I ask for a manager.

Lady manager gets on the phone (I think her name was Betty)  I go through the whole story with her now.  She tells me that that scope is now discontinued.  No I say, the scope IS still there but now you want to sell it for 100.00 and through in a "free" bore sight kit.  Then she puts me on hold to go talk to someone.  Comes back and tells me that she just talked to the internet guy and he says that the ad I'm referring too was a banner ad and that it was noted on the banner that the scope was blemished.  I finally hang up with these people.

Now don't get me wrong.  It's SWFA's business and if they want to jack up the price $50.00 and through in a $20.00 "free" inticement that's intirely their option.  I am upset that they would do that and not honor the ad from the weekend but hey they can do it and you guys should know that that's what their business practice is.  But what really frosts me is the lies I was told.  First one, and then another to try and cover the first one.  You guys should be aware of this practice at SWFA.

So here are screen shots of the ad from yesterday just so ya'll can see the ad and know that I'm not full of BS.

It sounds like they ran out of the blems to me and he was giving the price for a new one.

I wouldn't feel to bad as BSA are POS scopes anyway and he probably would not have been happy with it.  I actually have two of them and they are the junkiest scope I have ever owned.  Can't hardly see through them and they do not hold a zero very well.

supertool, I am glad I don't have your eyes.  I have one of the $49.95 scopes and a Sweet 22.  I can make out the big letters on a Hartz spray can at 50yd with both of them, and they have decent low light performance... <good, but OK for the price.   I would not put either of them on anything other than a 22, but that is all I got them for.  There are raccoon bones and crow beaks all over my property.  Did you know crows can count to 5????  There are a number of things I don't like about the BSA's, but they serve my purpose and the deficiencies are not so great they overweigh the price.  Would I recommend BSA to anyone?  NO.  One must weigh the options for himself.  I can't make up my own mind, so I certainly won't try to make up someone else's.

I got 20/10 vision so my eyes are good.  I just can't stand a scope that as soon as the sun goes down it is not usable, or if you point it in the general direction of the sun it whites out.  Or if you go above 8x it gets blurry and I am not able to make out my targets very well.  I'll pass on that and spend enough money to get something that is usable for what ever I put it through.

I was JOKING on the eyes, Man. Whacko Guess I should start using little emoticons everywhere.Clown

I too have 20/10, though.  I haven't had the same negatives with my BSA's that you have.  Bucky

I ask him.  He said that in also comes with a "free" bore siting kit.  Oh great, what about the ad from yesterday I ask. (That was yesterday and they are all gone, we try to pull ads as soon as we can)  Well we go back and forth a bit and he goes to ask someone.  Comes back and says that he just talked to their internet guy and he says that he did NOT make any changes to their ads.  I grumble and grouse to no avail and finally hang up. (The Internet guy did not change any ads, the marketing guy deleted ads)

I then do a little looking and find the cached file of the ad and call back.  This time a get a lady and try to order the product by the model number listed on the cached advertisment.  It does not come up, suprise suprise. (it does not come up because it no longer exists)  I go through the whole story with her and she tells me that the scope from yesterday was a "factory refirb that had a blemish on it.  I tell her that that was NOT what was on the add. (I made the ad and it most definitely did include the words FACTORY BLEM.  You are getting the new one and the blem one confused)  That the ad was for a new scope not a refirb.

(You are talking about two different sku's that are the same products.  One is a factory blem with no free boresights the other is the same scope new with a free boresighter.  Both of these were for sale at the same time.)  Then she puts me on hold to go talk to someone.  Comes back and tells me that she just talked to the internet guy and he says that the ad I'm referring too was a banner ad and that it was noted on the banner that the scope was blemished.  I finally hang up with these people.

(no lies were told on our side)  First one, and then another to try and cover the first one.  You guys should be aware of this practice at SWFA. (Again, this is ridiculous.  You called to order a product that no longer exists, the sales person could not locate it because it does not exists, he tells you about the only thing he can find that matches your description.  No one changed anything here and no one deceived you.)

So here are screen shots of the ad from yesterday just so ya'll can see the ad and know that I'm not full of BS.  (Yep, that is a screen shot of the Factory Blem product detail page that shows it at $49.95, one page back from there it has the details of the scope which include the words FACTORY BLEM.  Now put up a screen shot of the other product that is new and comes with a free boresighter.)

You know the bad thing about this is that we did absolutely NOTHING wrong.  We tried to explain to him on the phone that it is two different products and that they were both for sale at the same time, no one switched or changed anything.  We sold out of the blems and took them off our site.  He would not listen and would only threaten us, REPEATEDLY!  I am going to go all over the Internet and tell everyone what SWFA has done.

Sometimes you just can't win no matter how hard you try, some people just don't get it and thrive on "running to the Internet" like a little child anytime they THINK they have been wronged.

I can only hope that this guy has enough self respect to go back to all the other boards he posted his lies to and correct them but I seriously doubt if someone of his nature has it in him.
